The Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians is a statewide professional asso-ciation of approximately 949 members, including physicians, residents and medical students. Since 1949, MAFP has represented the professional interests of Missi-ssippi family physicians, providing postgraduate medical education and encouraging medical students to enter this field and to advance the patient-physician relationship.
Mission Statement
The Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians is an organization of family physicians dedicated to continually and cost effectively improving the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual health of the people of Mississippi. The Academy exists to serve the unique needs of its physician members, their patients, and the public at large. Our mission will be achieved through a responsive organization that communicates effectively and utilizes professional, political, and social action to promote the physician-patient relationship and the advancement of the specialty of family medicine.
