The Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians has nominated P. Brent Smith, MD, FAAFP, for a position on the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Commission on Quality and Practice.
Dr. Smith is a board certified family physician in private practice at Family Medical Clinic in Cleveland. He currently serves on the MAFP Board as an At-Large Director. Nationally, for the past six years he has served as a trustee for the AAFP Foundation, culminating in his service as president this year.
Dr. Smith has been recognized by outside groups for his leadership. He was named the Sports Medicine Person of the Year 2017 by the Mississippi Athletic Trainers Association, and the Mississippi Rural Health Champion in 2015.
