SB 2689 – 2019 Session

Family Doctors Opposed to SB 2689
CALL TO ACTION:
Call Members of the Senate Insurance Committee Before Meeting Monday at 1 pm
BACKGROUND:
Family doctors are vital to all communities especially in rural Mississippi. We provide treatment and overall care for all citizens. We monitor chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease while maintaining personal relationships with patients to ensure their overall health and well-being.
Telemedicine CANNOT be used to replace in-person visits with a physician who can provide the same services. Protecting the in-person doctor/patient relationship is essential to lowering health costs, increasing efficiency, and improving the quality of healthcare across our state.
Legislative Ask:
Reach out to members of the Senate Insurance Committee and ask them to speak with the Chairman about not bringing the bill up. If the bill is brought up in committee, ask them to support family doctors and VOTE NO on SB 2689.
